Healthwatch Stoke-on-Trent helps 
adults, young people and children speak up
about health and social care services in Stoke-on-Trent.

We find out what is happening and what people want from services by collecting information from:
• people who use services
• local community groups
• 
other organisations, charities and services that work with people who need support to stay safe or well.

We use this information to share concerns about problems and change the way services are planned, run and monitored. We have the powers to make organisations listen when we tell them about problems and require them to say how they will change things.

We at Throat Cancer Foundation (TCF) are dedicated to reducing the impact of throat cancers on society and on individuals. We are here to offer support, and want to ensure that anyone affected – patients, carers and loved ones – has access to the most up-to-date information available regarding their illness, the available treatments, and what to expect in recovery.

TCF was founded in 2012 by Scottish businessman and oropharyngeal cancer survivor Jamie Rae. Following his treatment and recovery, Jamie was concerned by the lack of resources and support available to people facing throat cancers, and established TCF to provide what was missing: reassurance and community for those facing throat cancers.

 

The Dove Service offers a range of support to all those affected by bereavement, significant loss and life changing illness.

 

ACP are part of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and offer a free service to patients of the Hospice

Macmillan provide a wealth of useful information on cancers of the head and neck, including how they are diagnosed, treatments you might have, possible side effects and how to get further support.
