There are thousands of folk around the UK on a journey of recovery from head, neck and thyroid cancers and, thank goodness, for most of them there is someone there to help them, support them and ‘share the journey’.
That journey may well have involved surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, PEGS in the stomach, and much, much more.
The journey is made just a little bit easier if there is a Support Group – a group of folk who’ve ‘been through it’ either as a patient or as a support carer, meeting on a regular basis, sharing experiences and enjoying social activities.
Head and Neck Cancer Support Group (Head Cases) is there to provide just that. We meet at 7.30 pm on the first Wednesday of each month at The Red House, The Square, Caverswall, Stoke-on-Trent, ST11 9ED, There to support you are people who have been through it, both Carers and Patients, and Cancer Nurse Specialists from both Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital, Stafford.
The Head and Neck Cancer Support Group (Head Cases) is encouraged and supported by Macmillan Cancer Support.
You’ve ‘been there’. Come along and share all of it or none of it. But come along and enjoy. You could well find yourself looking forward to the first Wednesday of each month just like we do.
